It’s a super exciting day when Capital Crime’s very first subscription box lands on the doorstep! You just know it’s going to be a real humdinger of a package when you spot that logo! I was buzzing with excitement.

Capital Crime have launched a killer book club, a subscription service offering three levels of bookish goodness:

3 month subscription, £14.99, per month

6 month subscription, £12.99 per month

12 month subscription, £10.00 per month

Every month subscribers will receive:

  • Two carefully curated paperbacks from the crime and thriller genre.
  • Access to exclusive online author interviews with the opportunity to submit questions in advance.

This subscription service is affordable, inclusive and super great value for money. Beforehand, you receive an email letting you know your box is winging its way to you, which is a lovely touch!

Included in this month’s box, we have two glorious books (Who else loves the smell of freshly printed books?)

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

A stunning hardback, which is SIGNED!

In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet up once a week to investigate unsolved murders.

But when a brutal killing takes place on their very doorstep, the Thursday Murder Club find themselves in the middle of their first live case.

Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron might be pushing eighty but they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.

Can our unorthodox but brilliant gang catch the killer before it’s too late?

Richard Osman is an author, producer and television presenter. The Thursday Murder Club is his first novel. He is well known for TV shows including Pointless and Richard Osman’s House of Games. As the creative director of Endemol UK, Richard has worked as an executive producer on numerous shows including Deal Or No Deal and 8 Out of 10 Cats. He is also a regular on panel and game shows such as Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You and Taskmaster.

The House Guest by Mark Edwards

This beaut comes with a SIGNED (signed, my gosh!) postcard and the snazziest pen I’ve ever seen, which also moonlights as a torch and stylus!

When British twenty-somethings Ruth and Adam are offered the chance to spend the summer housesitting in New York, they can’t say no. Young, in love and on the cusp of professional success, they feel as if luck is finally on their side.

So the moment that Eden turns up on the doorstep, drenched from a summer storm, it seems only right to share a bit of that good fortune. Beautiful and charismatic, Eden claims to be a friend of the homeowners, who told her she could stay whenever she was in New York.

They know you’re not supposed to talk to strangers—let alone invite them into your home—but after all, Eden’s only a stranger until they get to know her.

As suspicions creep in that Eden may not be who she claims to be, they begin to wonder if they’ve made a terrible mistake…

Helluva bookish bundle to kick start one of the hottest new book clubs! I’m in LOVE and I can’t wait to get reading. I’ve been a huuge fan of Mark Edwards since I first read The Magpies (I say first because I’ve read that beauty about a thousand times.) I adore his books and can’t wait to dive into The House Guest. Bloomin’ excited to gobble up The Thursday Murder Club. This sounds fabulous. I’ve had my eye on this for ages and when I saw it in the box (signed no less) I was jumping for joy!

I can’t recommend this subscription service enough. The lovely team at Capital Crime, Adam Hamdy, David Headley and Lizzie Curle, have created something spectacular. If you fancy joining this killer book club, you can find more info here!

With thanks to the Capital Crime team for my gifted September subscription box, which I received for review purposes..
